A great offer came to my attention today. I’ve just made the momentus decision not to renew my National Trust Membership this year (after goodness knows how many happy years of visiting our historic stately homes and gardens) and to try something different instead.
What I didn’t know was, you can get an Annual Pass for ALL FIVE of our Historic Royal Palaces (That’s the Tower of London, Kensington Palace, Hampton Court Palace, Banqueting House and Kew Palace – but not Kew Gardens) for £39 each or a fantastic £61 for two people. So you can visit them as many times as you wish in a year. Plus you get a free book, free magazine subscription, money off when you eat at the Palaces, use of a private member’s room (how cool is that?) and invitations to exclusive events that other tourists won’t even know about.
And if you’re not sure about the whole membership thing, then you can visit any one of the Palaces, pay your entry fee and if you’re hooked and want to join, they’ll discount that from your membership as long as you take your tickets back to the ticket booth and join on the same day.
Or, if you only fancy the Tower and Hampton Court, you can visit both for £24.50 per person (instead of £31) until the end of the year (and no, you don’t have to visit both in one day). Just ask for a joint Tower/Hampton Court ticket on the day, or you can buy them online.
There’s nothing like swanning around a Palace all day to truly convince you that you were born in the wrong era and could have been quite at home as a courtier…
